Our Approach to Business

Since opening our doors in the Isle of Man in 1996, Capital International has spent more than three decades combining disciplined investment expertise with forward-thinking technology and a deep commitment to responsible business. This long-term perspective underpins everything we do, from how we invest to how we support our clients.

Today, Capital International employs over 260 people across the Isle of Man, Jersey and South Africa, as well as operating a representative office in the Dubai International Financial Centre. With approximately US$6.5bn in assets under administration, our offering spans asset management, sustainable investment strategies, digital corporate banking and a cutting-edge investment platform. Together, these capabilities are designed to provide clarity, confidence and long-term value to a diverse client base, including private clients, trustees, corporates and institutions.

An Established Presence on the Ground in Jersey

Capital International (Jersey) Limited is based in St Helier and provides asset management services to both local and international clients. The company was formed with the acquisition of two established Jersey-based asset managers, Martello Asset Management Limited and APW Investors Limited (formerly the investment arm of Affinity Private Wealth), into the wider Capital International group of companies. Combining these teams with our existing Isle of Man asset management department has brought together complementary expertise and experience, strengthening Capital International’s overall asset management capability.

Working closely with Jersey-based advisers, trustees, intermediaries and service providers, we deliver a high standard of service to local clients, informed by decades of experience across the financial services industry. Our physical presence in Jersey, together with a strong understanding of the Island’s regulatory environment, market practices and client expectations, enables the team to collaborate efficiently and responsively. This local insight, robust governance and cross-jurisdictional expertise allow us to support Jersey clients with tailored investment solutions aligned to their structures, objectives and regulatory requirements.

As an independent investment house, we form our own views, develop our own strategies and manage portfolios internally. Investment Process

Our disciplined investment process translates philosophy into practice through carefully curated, research-driven portfolios designed to deliver reliable outcomes in a fast-changing world. The process is underpinned by clear rhythms and robust disciplines, providing a structured framework within which investment decisions are made.

We are organised into specialist teams covering asset allocation, equities, fixed income, funds, sustainability and thematic research, all working in close collaboration with a central investment committee. Strategies

Our investment strategies are designed to meet a wide range of client objectives, combining disciplined research, active management and a long-term perspective.

Signature:

‍A high conviction investment strategy anchored in rigorous in-house company research and disciplined asset selection. With a focus on developed markets, Signature invests across equities, bonds and funds to deliver a unique, actively managed investment portfolio.

Spectrum:

‍A diversified portfolio of funds featuring a carefully curated combination of specialist fund managers. Spectrum's differentiated approach positions investors to benefit from key themes and trends, while retaining a capital preservation mindset. In March 2026, Spectrum Balanced (GBP) received a platinum medal from ARC. In December 2025, Spectrum Cautious (GBP) received the same accolade, while Spectrum Growth (GBP) received an MPS gold medal.

Better World:

‍A globally diversified, multi-asset strategy designed to deliver strong long-term performance while supporting meaningful global progress towards a more sustainable future. The Better World strategy supports Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, donating a portion of its fees to fund vital conservation work.*

The Martello Global Equity Fund:

Building Strong, Long-Lasting Relationships

Over the lifespan of a client’s investment, we provide high-quality, personalised service. Understanding that circumstances change and clients’ requirements can evolve, we ensure an investment adapts over time. Using our proprietary profiling technology, we review client portfolios regularly, modelling different scenarios and calculating various outcomes to illustrate the options available. This helps ensure clients remain on track to achieve their investment objectives.

Alongside regular reviews, we pride ourselves on offering real-time, human support. We do not use chatbots or call centres. Instead, clients can speak directly to a dedicated relationship manager regarding any queries relating to their portfolios. Our Asset Managers are also accessible to discuss technical matters as required.

The Voice of the Client

The Voice of the Client Forum plays a vital role in ensuring client perspectives are actively heard and reflected across the business. By bringing together client feedback, insights and experiences in a structured and collaborative setting, it provides a direct channel for clients to influence how we evolve our investment offering, ensuring we remain responsive and aligned with client needs.
