The Isle of Man is a renowned and well-respected international finance centre which is just one of the reasons why it is home to the Capital International Group head office.
A self-governing British Crown Dependency, the Isle of Man is part of the British Isles but sits outside the United Kingdom, Great Britain and the EU. This gives it the freedom to make its own laws and set its own taxation regime which has resulted in a flourishing economy that has seen sustained growth for more than 30 years.
The Island has thriving financial services, eGaming and professional services sectors and is well known for the iconic TT motorbike races and world-class cyclists such as Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh. It boasts the longest continuous parliamentary assembly, Tynwald, in the world.
Located in the Irish Sea equidistant from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man has a population of around 85,000. It is easily accessible with daily flights to many regional airports in the UK, linking with Europe and beyond. There are also regular ferry services from Liverpool and Heysham.
In 2016 the Isle of Man was the first whole jurisdiction to be awarded UNESCO Biosphere Status in recognition of being a special place to live and work.
The Capital International Group head office is based in Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man and serves clients all over the world.
Our Cape Town office was opened in 2014 to meet the growing demand for financial services in South Africa and other emerging markets.
Situated on the south western tip of Africa, Cape Town is the second largest city in South Africa and home to the county’s parliament. Dubbed the “Mother City”, it has long been a thriving centre of commerce and its port is one of the busiest in the world.
Famous for its stunning beaches and natural beauty, and overlooked by the dramatic splendour of Table Mountain, Cape Town is a vibrant and multicultural city. With a similar time zone to the Isle of Man, a common language and a strong regulatory regime, it was a natural choice for Capital International’s first overseas office.
Having an active local team on the ground gives our clients many advantages and is a sign of our commitment to developing products and services for growing and emerging markets. Our South Africa clients benefit from our full suite of financial solutions whilst enjoying the excellent service and close working relationships for which Capital International Group is known.
