Department: Risk & Compliance Team Job Title: Risk Manager Reports to: Risk & Compliance Director Grade: Manager Location: Isle of Man Advertising Date: 8 February 2018 Opportunity: We are looking for a Risk Manager to join the Risk & Compliance team at Capital International Group. The purpose of the role is to provide support and direct the business in carrying out the Group Risk and Control Framework. Role Description & Key Duties: Develop, coordinate and maintain policies and procedures to monitor and support the Group Risk and Control Framework providing relevant advice, training and guidance where required. Ensuring appropriate risk appetite measures are monitored in relation to key risk management policies maintained by the Group. Embed and promote the Group Risk & Control Framework to drive an open and honest risk culture and provide support in developing SMART key risk indicators. Provide technical assistance in relation to the delivery of the Group Risk & Control Framework and related regulation, legislation, and the collation, analyses and reporting of key risk MI. Maintain the Group Risk Registers and support the business in identifying, assessing and describing risks and controls. Conduct independent research to contribute to the proactive detection of emerging risk themes and share relevant industry news with the management teams. Prepare and deliver adequate risk reporting for the Group Committees and relevant Boards on any issues or significant risks that require attention. Challenge, oversee and advise on the effectiveness of operational risk decisions and practices. Test the effectiveness, strength and suitability of controls associated with key risks and recommend appropriate suggestions for improvement. Engage with the business to promote the reporting and escalation of operational incidents to aid with quarterly analysis for relevant Risk Committees. Experience Qualifications & Skills Required: A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a risk or compliance role within the finance sector. Completed or working towards relevant qualification such as: – International Diploma in Enterprise Risk Management; – ICA Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance; – CISI Managing Operational Risk in Financial Institutions; – Institute of Risk Management (IRM) qualification or – Relevant degree.
