Commentator, Simon Brown, will be presenting on some of the positives he’s seeing right now with a focus on the local economy. Sharing their expertise, Antony Kelsey will be interviewing David Long, discussing their views of the international markets, the outlook, threats and opportunities. David Noon will be unpacking Capital International’s kitbag and showing how these products and services can assist introducers in the local market.

South Africa being placed on FATF’s grey list is an elephant in the room.  With strategic deficiencies in their anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing regime, Jeanine de Swardt-Breeds, will discuss the steps that will be required should South Africa be placed on FATF’s Grey List. Ryk Becker will be providing a background to the possible listing, the seemingly lack of action being taken by the South African government and how the Capital International Group are preparing for the inevitable, for both clients and staff.

As the Head of Tax at Nolands, he has overarching responsibility to educate colleagues and consult to Nolands clients on all relevant tax issues.  He has presented and published research on various tax topics both locally and internationally.

Martine Botha

Prior to moving to Johannesburg she was the Account Manager for several of KPMG’s largest insurance clients across APAC. Martine currently works as the Global Sustainable Finance Executive for KPMG IMPACT, KPMG’s ESG accelerator. She helps to connect KPMG teams across the world share best practice when it comes to ESG integration across the Banking, Asset Management and Insurance sectors.

Marcus Prevel

Marcus joined in 2001 and has 28 years of experience in the management of private client wealth, including 12 years at a major private bank providing a diverse range of banking, investment and estate planning services. Marcus has focused on the provision of trust and related services, assisting private clients resident in many jurisdictions. He has specialist knowledge of the South African markets, having worked closely with clients there since 2001. He has been a director since 2013 and is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Claire Machin

Claire started out in the trust and corporate services industry with Abacus Financial Services, the trust arm of PWC, in 1993 and has since worked in senior positions prior to joining Suntera as a Manager in 2010. Claire is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and has over twelve years of managerial experience being appointed to the board of Suntera Jersey in January 2017.  In September 2019, Claire was appointed as a Group Director of Suntera Global and is the Head of Trusts and Private Wealth for our Jersey office. She has also won the Citywealth Trustee of the Year award for the Channel Islands and Isle of Man in January 2019.

Kath Quayle

With a realisation that we can create meaningful change through small acts of kindness, monthly social events were held, which proved so transformative that it led to the establishment of Souper Troopers, now one of the most trusted organisations helping the homeless across the Western Cape. With a background in the food distribution industry, Kerry, along with her mother, Charlene, head up CNC, a Cape Town based food supplier, with strong links to Souper Troopers.

He is a Member of the Personal Finance Society, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and holds the Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors.

Greg Easton

Greg has over 20 years of knowledge, expertise and experience providing discretionary investment solutions for trustees, private and institutional clients. He has significant experience in responsible investments having managed a sustainable agriculture and forestry fund from 2010 to 2013. Greg holds the CFA UK Level 4 Diploma in Investment Management (ESG) and in 2021 passed the STEP Certificate in International Trust Management with distinction. He is currently studying for the CFA Certificate in Climate & Investing. Greg’s network spans the Channel Islands, Switzerland, Monaco, Bermuda, the Caribbean and LATAM. He is a regular panel speaker at International STEP and IoD events.

Kim Quirk

Kim has recently passed the Sustainable and Responsible Investment Professional Assessment with CISI and is currently studying towards the RE5 exam.
