Doing it for Debs | Relay for Life

Wednesday 12th October 2016

Kirsten Gorry and a team of volunteers from the Capital International Group, as well as friends and family took part in the Cancer Research Relay for Life. Everyone involved took turns to walk around the track at the National Sports Centre in Douglas over a 24 hour period back in August.

Now that the dust has settled the final figures can be collated. It is with great pride that we can announce that the team alone raised £853.46 which is a fantastic achievement. In addition, the Capital International Group kindly offered to add £1,746.54 to the sum raised bringing the overall group total to £2,600. However, the good news doesn’t end there, with all the other donations from friends and family the total has surpassed the £3,000 target that Kirsten set and is currently at £3,828.90.

Kirsten, Operations Director at the Capital International Group commended everyone across the Isle of Man and around the UK saying:

“All money raised will support Cancer Research UK’s life-saving research into preventing, controlling and curing all cancers. Every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound donated and every donation makes a real difference!

“All those involved at the Capital International Group would like to thank their friends, family and everyone that helped or took part for their generosity, support and kindness.

United we are stronger than cancer!
