Anthony having taken over as Chairman at the beginning of 2016 is a founder Director and one of the controlling shareholders of the Capital International Group of companies.
Prior to becoming Chief Executive Officer of Capital International Limited in 2004, he has held the offices of Finance, Investment Administration, Operations and Business Development Director at Capital, having been instrumental in the development and strategic direction of the business since inception.
Anthony became an SFA Registered Representative in 1989 and started his Financial Services career in the late ‘80’s, spending over ten years with James Capel & Co (a part of the HSBC Group) working in the City of London and throughout the Far East from their head office in Hong Kong.
He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and was President of the local Branch of the CISI in 2006 & 7. In 2008 was Chair of the Isle of Man Fund Management Association and sat on the Main Committee until 2010. Anthony currently sits on the Board of Junior Achievement Isle of Man. He is also a Member of the Institute of Directors and has successfully completed the Diploma in Company Direction.
A founder Director of Capital International Limited in 1996, Peter is a controlling shareholder of the Capital International Group (CIG) with his sons, Anthony (CEO), and David (Chief Investment Officer).
Peter’s career in financial services began in the City of London as long ago as1959 and so currently spans a remarkable fifty five year period. He became a Member of the London Stock Exchange in 1973 and a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) upon its inception in 1992. He is a past Chairman of the CISI Isle of Man Branch, and was made a Life Member of the Institute in July 2014 in recognition of his long standing membership and distinguished career.
Peter headed the Overseas Department of a London Stockbroking Partnership, Laurence, Prust & Co, throughout the 1970’s and early 1980’s. He was responsible for opening Partnership Offices in Singapore and Malaysia (where he moved with his family in 1974) as well as a representative office in Hong Kong. Thereafter, for well over a decade Laurence, Prust & Co came to be regarded as a top rated specialist research House covering South East Asia.
Peter was one of the founding shareholders of the Framlington Unit Trust Group in1973. Later in the 1990’s he became Deputy Chairman, and then Chairman, of the South Oxfordshire Small Business Bureau. After his move to the Isle of Man he became the Isle of Man Representative of Macmillan Cancer Support, and for many years was a Member of its London Council. In 2005 he was awarded an Honorary Life Membership for his services to the Charity.
Peter served for over a decade as a Director of the Isle of Man International Business School and as a Governor of the Isle of Man College of Further and Higher Education.
An active Beekeeper and gardener, Peter and his wife Heather live in Port St Mary, in the South of the Island.
David began his investment career in the Isle of Man in 1996 and became a founder member of Capital International.
In 1997 he relocated to London to pursue an investment management career, joining Mercury Asset Management Limited which was subsequently taken over by Merrill Lynch. David spent two years managing private client bond portfolios before moving to a specialist asset allocation team within the institutional equity division. There he managed the asset allocation for over $1.5 billion of client assets including eight unit trusts. He reached the rank of Vice President in 2001 before returning to Capital International in August 2002.
David became an Associate Director in August 2002 and Head of Investment Management in September 2003. He then joined the Board in November 2005 as Business Development Director. Further developments led to David being appointed Chief Investment Officer in early 2008.
David is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, the Institute of Directors and holds the UK Society of Investment Professionals Investment Management Certificate and in March 2014 attained Chartered Wealth Manager status.
Kirsten has worked in the Finance Industry since 1988, primarily in the Personal Portfolio Bond (PPB) administration sector.
Educated at Castle Rushen High School, Isle of Man, she holds the SFA Certificate of Foundations qualification.
She spent six years with Royal Life International (now Friends Provident International) before joining Sun Life International in 1992 upon the commencement of their operations in the Isle of Man and was appointed their Investment Dealing Supervisor in 1994.
Kirsten joined Capital International in 1997 and was instrumental in the Company's successful diversification into Investment Administration Services. This area is now one of the core engines of growth for Capital International.
Kirsten has been instrumental in the implementation of new systems and an operational restructure during 2007. In mid-2009 Kirsten joined the Board as Chief Operations Officer.
After graduating in 1977, Robert qualified as a Solicitor in 1980 and was admitted as a member of the Law Society in England and Wales. He worked in Private Practise in the Thames Valley with Charsley Harrison Solicitors spending a total of eighteen years with them and was made Partner in 1984.
Robert joined Capital International Limited in 1996 as Company Secretary and in 1997 became the firms Compliance Officer. He joined the Board in 2001. In 2008 Robert became a Non-Executive Director.
In addition, Robert continues to provide, on a consultancy basis, ‘in house’ advice to the firm and all group companies on all legal matters.
Robert is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (formerly the Securities and Investment Institute (SII)) and holds the Institute of Director diploma in Company Direction and is an Associate of the Compliance Institute.
Antony has worked in offshore financial services for more than 16 years having started his career in London working for a research and management consultancy house. In 2001 he moved to the Isle of Man to work for a South African financial services group, developing offshore investment business from South Africa and offshore portfolio bond business from the UK.
In 2004 he joined a privately owned life assurance company where he was responsible for driving the development of a new range of inheritance tax products raising over £100m in 6 years from UK IFAs and their clients.
Antony joined Capital International in 2010 to re-energise business development activity. He became Head of Business Development & Marketing for the Capital International Group in 2011 and was appointed to the Board of Capital Select Limited in 2012.
He works with UK IFAs to deliver bespoke investment solutions, with a particular focus on tax efficiency, as well as with IOM and international intermediaries seeking help with the delivery of offshore financial services to their clients. Antony is a member of the Personal Finance Society, a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and holds the Level 6 Certificate in Private Client and Investment Advice & Management.
Doug joined Capital International Limited in 2003, starting out in Third Party Administration before moving into Operations and Management.
In July 2009 Capital Select Limited was formed to provide outsourcing and support services. Doug joined the Board as an Executive Director from the outset, with primary responsibility for operations. Doug has been pushing forward the developments required to provide new services and operational efficiency throughout the Capital International Group. In October 2012 he took overall responsibility for infrastructure and software development as Head of IT.
Doug originally moved to the Isle of Man in October 1995 with the University of Liverpool to complete his degree in Marine Biology. Doug is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment and also a Member of the Institute of Directors, holding the Diploma in Company Direction.
